Danish Hackathon 2026
Join us for the HL7 Hackathon in Denmark 2026 – a full day of hands-on collaboration, experimentation and learning with HL7 FHIR and health data. The good news is that it's free to participate, so come by yourself or bring a colleague.
The hackathon is organised by HL7 Denmark and takes place at Forskerparken 10 in Odense (MedCom’s location) the day before eSundhedsobservatoriet 2026.
Participants will work in dedicated tracks throughout the day. Whether you are an experienced FHIR developer or new to working with FHIR, there will be opportunities to learn, experiment, and exchange ideas.
Here you can read more about the event: https://hl7.dk/fhir/hackathons/
Registration deadline: September 15.
The number of participants is limited to 30 - register today.

The tracks
Participants will join one of three tracks:
Track 1 – Agentic Patient Access
Track lead: Jens Villadsen
Can AI agents help make health data available through FHIR – even when the original system does not provide a FHIR API?
This track is particularly relevant for participants interested in FHIR development, APIs, AI-assisted software development and interoperability.
Track 2 – Telemedicine
Track lead: Kirstine Rosenbeck
This is a more beginner-friendly, hands-on introduction to working with FHIR. Using a telemedicine use case, participants will learn how to interact with a FHIR server and work with FHIR resources in practice.
Participants can work with, for example, Java/HAPI FHIR or .NET/Firely, and the track provides an opportunity to become familiar with FHIR through practical exercises.
Track 3 – Track your health data
Track lead: Jacob Andersen
This track invites participants to build components of a personal health dataspace: an ecosystem where a citizen's health data can be stored, shared, and optionally donated to research, all under the citizen's own control.
There is no single prescribed task. Participants are free to build whatever component they find most interesting or meaningful.
